Lashkar-e-Balochistan Strikes
Lashkar-e-Balochistan has
claimed responsibility for
numerous attacks on the first
anniversary of Balach Marri's
death. They include:
- Blowing
up an FC vehicle with a remote
controlled device in Chaki
Shawani area of Quetta ,
killing 3 FC (Frontier Corps)
personnel and critically injuring
five. The powerful blast rocked
the entire area, damaging several
nearby shops and buildings
in the area.
- Blowing
up another FC truck in
Khuzdar, killing several
FC personnel on board.
The deadly blast rocked
the entire area. The assailants
managed to escape.
- Attacking an Army convoy
with a poweful blast on
the RCD Highway in Khuzdar
and damaging a bridge.
The explosion occured under
a bridge in Khuzdar, partially
damaging the bridge and
causing damage to the vehicles.
No details regarding confirmed
casualties were reported.
- Firing at least
4 rockets which
landed inside the FC fort
in Wadh, causing severe
damage to the building.
No casualties were reported
at the time. Talking to
newsmen from an unknown
location, the spokesman
for the organisation Mir
Lavang Baloch, claimed
responsibility for the
attack.
- Attacking
officials of the Military
Intelligence with automatic
weapons outside the Quetta
Press Club. However, the
officials managed to escape
unhurt.
Talking
to the press from an unknown
location via satelite phone,
spokesman for the organisation,
Mir Lavang Baloch, claimed
responsibilty for the attacks.
The attacks marked the 1st
martyrdom anniversary of Baloch
leader Nawabzada Balach Marri.
It should also
be noted that the Lashkar-e-Balochistan
has recently claimed responsibilty
for a number of other attacks
in recent days, some of
which include attacking
FC personnel on two separate
occasions,
including blowing up an
FC vehicle on the Karachi-
Quetta Highway and killing
two FC personnel. In another
attack in Wadh, two FC
personnel riding a motorcycle
were also killed. Baloch
freedom fighers also showered
rockets on a military checkpost
and the Frontier Corps
camp near Wadh which was
reported to have caused
damage to the building.
The
organisation has carried
out attacks in various
parts of Balochistan despite
a ceasfire by three Baloch
militant organisations. |
